The Flintstone House or “The Barbapapa House”

Flintstone house in Hillsborough, California has always been fascinating for me.  Whenever we drive to San Francisco via I280, we see the Flintstone house from the highway.  This house used to be only one color but few years back they paint it with more colors.

This house looks different from other houses and is very noticeable from the highway.   I love this house.  It is so creative, and full of art work.

The house is also known as “The Barbapapa House,” deriving its name from “Barbapapa“, a character and series of books created by “Annette Tison” and “Talus Taylor” in the 1970s.

The house recently sold for $2.8 million.  According to Julie Zubiate of Redfin, the buyer’s agent. “The buyer loves that the house is a piece of art, inside and out,” And the buyer “has always loved seeing the house when driving along Interstate Highway 280,”
